Anyone from New Jersey / New York ???

Finally!  I am now able to post into this particular thread.

Anybody out there from the East Coast, particularly, the New Jersey / New York, area who caught the Integral Bug besides me?  Or is the Integral Influence still a predominantly West Coast phenomenon?

I've looked at their website forum, registered and signed in.  The group is not active. There were only two messages and the last posting was on Sep 7, 2024.

What I don't figure, though, is "Why create a new forum separate from I-I?"  I do not see the point since there is I-I forum in place.

    My mistake....
The forum posts, except for the old ones I mentioned, are not displayed for non-members.  (not a very good way to "entice" visitors to the site.  The posts should be viewable though not subject to replies or alterations by "non-members".)  It gives the wrong impression that the forum is inactive.

Now that I got my forum membership approved, I see that there are a lot more than two messages posted (388 articles by 114 users).  But the latest one was posted on April 18. Not much activity is going on there....

Anyway, thanks vajrayogani for the information.

Re: INYCS forum IS active (Was Re: Re: INYCS forum is not active ...)

Actually, there is quite a bit of activity going on all over NY + NJ, and I'm from bergen County.  we've got a solid group from NJ, all voer the place, who would love to start getting together, once we congregate enough to have a chapter.  The NYC group is integral, and compromises pro/con AQAL, pro/con Ken groups. I'm Lynne Feldman, and I am coordinating the integral + future I-I groups in the area wwith a group of 3 others who straddle the iNYCs and ICC/NY groups.  We formed the Integral Community Center/NY forum for those who had gone to a seminar or I-WET, but we're now trying to scoop up all AQAL Integral fans into ICC/NY, and permit iNYCs to be a more open, exploratory forum where folks can go around and around on various types of integral and cultural creative topics.

But I really want to gather up the NJ team, which has some really hard core folks who have met with Ken, attended seminars, I-WETs, or are just dazzled to be in this playground!  Tell me where you are, and if you are close to Bergen County, we can get together and I'[llo alert the other NJ team members and see what we can organize.  Meanwhile, we can talk here!!

    Hi, Lynne,

I am at Somerset, NJ.  I have not been in any of Ken's seminars.  I am one of those who are simply dazzled to be in this playground.

I am currently steeped into the study of Tao phiolosophy and cultivation, Buddhism and the Confucian classics. As I have mentioned somewhere in this forum, because of my current practice, I am starting to understand Ken's Integral Philosophy.  I bought his "Spectrum of Consciousness" quite a few years ago and had to set it aside. I bought his "Kosmic Consciousness" when it first came out and then ended up setting it aside -- for everything that was being discussed goes over my head.

I picked them up again this past year, after I have started my current practice/study, and I was suprised now that I can understand his book and I can understand the topics of discussion in Kosmic.  I thought, the mental/spritual changes that happend to me were very interesting.

You might be interested to come to a KW MeetUp in NJ on Aug. 10th at 7 pm at Borders' Book Store Cafe in teh Garden State Mall in paramus.  I have NO idea who will show up, but if you want to meet then and have some coffee and chat, I'll be there!

    Towers,
we are pretty active as an integral salon here
the INYCS site had a brief run as our online presence, but it we have a yahoo groups listerv that was always more popular and when the couple who designed and maintained the site moved out of town, I think it pretty much became a ghost town.

we also have a meetup here in nyc and other activities
    there's a meetup here on the 11th.
here are some links to follow:
these are from Barbara Larisch , who is the organizer right now

    Hi all,

I've updated this event. For more details, see the full listing:
    http://kenwilber.meetup.com/58/events/4978061/

If the change affects your plans to attend, please take a
moment to update your RSVP. (You can RSVP 'No' or 'Maybe' as
    well as 'Yes'.)

You can always get in touch with me through the 'Contact
Organizer' feature on the Meetup.com website:

    Hi, Lynne,

That will be a 55-mile drive for me.  I'll try to make it, but no promise.

I'm wondering, if there's enough Ken Wilbur interest in Central New Jersey (Middlesex County Area).

    Hi, Uncle J,

Thanks for the update.  I am feeling my way through the NE region.  Actually, my goal is to find a group closest to where I live -- Somerset/Middlesex Counties in Central NJ.
