• Re: encounter with a snake

''I'm pretty sure it wasn't a rope. And I'm almost certain it wasn't Thomas Merton.''Hey Rambo. Thanks for the smile. Snakes make very poor ropes, in my experience. Damned things won't stay tied. But I like snakes. Always have. Comes from growing up in Ohio where there were no poisonous ones.Namaste, JulieZoooom!

  • Re: Is anyone here going to I-I seminars in March?

I just signed up for the Breath and Bodywork segment; but I live in the Denver area, so it's a very easy trip for me.Sofia Diaz is a goddess. I have been wanting the opportunity to spend some time with her instructing again, in a dedicated setting, ever since I did the first ILP week in--chit--2005 (really?). If the Westin is too pricey, there is a

  • Re: The Way the World Ends

Ah, life has been a bit strange. must focus...In the grand view...The probability of TECHNICAL failures occuring are far far smaller than the potential HUMAN failures.Nukes don't kill. People do. There is much strangeness in the human realm that carries the nuclear briefcases that I do not comprehend, cannot put into a context of basic ...

  • Re: The Way the World Ends

You thought I was trying to reassure you? Henh-henh...If you're going to go around being alarmed, I thought you would prefer to be alarmed about the actual issues, rather than ones that aren't issues. And I've always wondered---France and England have nukes wandering around on submarines somewhere, but no independent early warning ...

  • Re: The Way the World Ends

Drive-by Julie....Technically, all the ICBMs are de-targeted, but it is as simple as sending a computer command with coordinates to the missiles. And 'false alarms' based on forest fires don't happen. Forest fires are detected, but as forest fires, not missiles, this is pretty well-tested technology. So there is hyperbole in the ...

  • Re: The 9/11 Truth Movement

Interesting to note people's beliefs...as I just started reading Sam Harris' ''The End of Faith,'' with its deep, deep concern regarding those who do not question their own belief systems (in this case, religion), no matter how rationally tenuous they are.I am only starting Chapter 3, but I hope he gets to the reason why people choose to ...

  • Re: The 9/11 Truth Movement

From my years as a pilot and my own research, I can pretty well back up Vortex's knowledge of ATC procedures and whether the ATC version of the story was credible or not. 9-11 pretty much happened the way the conventional story says...The 'sell job' on invading Iraq, on the other hand, is an entirely different thing.Over and out...Julie

  • Re: Adyashanti

I've been a big fan of Adyashanti for about a year; even went to one of his retreats last June.Highly recommended, he seems to be the real deal (as far as I am able to determine with my current operating system); so far no hint of scandal, I would be very surprised if it were to happen. So I was very pleased to see him interviewed on IN; and ...

  • Re: Update on Ken's Health

Well, I guess Ken's supernatural healing powers are better than ever...since he's apparently going to New York next weekend, in part to give a talk with Traleg Rinpoche. Considering that getting him to travel is difficult under ordinary circumstances, to travel a little over a month out from major injury means..ah hell, I don't know what the hell ...
