Where to find the Integral basics?

    Hi friends,

Here's wishing you all a beautiful day after Xmas.

I'm new here. Dropping in on these discussions without any background in integral theory leaves me curious and baffled.

Is a primer available online here on this site? Is there an audio version? Can you suggest a sequence of readings? Is a book (or a series of books) the best way to gain rudimentary understanding?

    Thanks in advance.

    Peace

    Lea

    Hi Lea,

Here are a couple of links

    I-I Intro Pages

    Integral Theory and Practice

There is a link to a PDF of that here but I couldn't get it to work at the moment for some reason.

    Hope that'll help for now.

    Peace, Tim

Hello and Welcome, Lea Smile [:)]

Tim's suggestions are great. I might also suggest a few other great introductory material to Ken Wilber's work. They too have great reputation for being most welcoming and friendly to newcomers Smile [:)] I have linked them to Amazon.com...

    many thanks.

for me, reading about spirituality is maybe comparable to experiencing a Van Gogh by smell...

As an audio guy, I'll definitely go with the CD.

    see you around!

    You're welcome, Lea.

Hey, for audio why not check this out (scroll down, note : Introduction to the Integral Approach calls) or the other live calls (some are free if not an ISC member.) Try the various resources at this page also, at IN. There is, of course, plenty of audio on Integral Naked (IN) that can be searched by topic (although, off-hand, I am not sure of any simple overviews).

    Good luck!

    Peace, Tim

Re: Where to find the Integral basics?

Now that I've read bit about IOS, while (coincidentally) reading for the first time The Glass Bead Game by Hesse, I'm thinking I can't be the first to wonder how greatly Ken W's early thinking was influenced by Hesse...

I'll include some quotes from Hesse here at some point.

    Peace

A new thread has been started on this same topic with numerous resources.
