At first glance, this seems like the beginning of a good joke: "Two Benedictines, a Cistercian and a Franciscan go to a seminar..." but it makes me smile for another reason: it is indicative of the level of interest in integral frameworks (appropriate in my opinion) in the Christian monastic communities.  (Women's communities were also represented at this seminar, though not in this particular shot. Expect to see more in the future.)  The contemplative communities and the sensibilities that they infuse are both the most ancient of Christian roots and the tip of the growth toward ever more direct experiences of the Christ consciousness that is every sentient being's birthright. And if that doesn't make you laugh out loud with overwhelming gratitude...
